Our film, The Opportunist , received a nice dose of press coverage during its festival run at Cannes this May. Starting with a glowing review by Critics' Week programmer Fabien Gaffez, The Opportunist played to a sold-out crowd both Saturday and Sunday and was written up in two film magazines: Nisi Masa and Format Court . Both gave immensely positive reviews to our work and have echoed much of what we heard during our time in France.
In addition, Steve Zelchik at the Los Angeles Times did a front story cover piece on our filmmaking team, Bureau of Ships and the story behind getting The Opportunist to the Cannes Film Festival. It's been quite a ride to say the least, and the story of our journey from Kickstarter to GoFundMe to late-night shoots to music licensing to editing and mixing has been something an inspiration for young filmmakers trying to get their work shown around the world. We are tremendously blessed with the words of praise and encouragement that we've received and are looking forward to touring the film in North America in the coming year. Stay tuned for updates!
